Story
Stars from BristolRugby will be making a tackle with a difference at the end of this season to raise vital funds for charity.
Eleven current players and an Army Major will be swapping the pitch and desks for the roads of Iceland for their latest challenge. The twelve novice's will look to cycle the 700 kilometers over five grueling days across Iceland - from a small town on the east of the island next to the Norwegian Sea called Eglisstador all the way west to the Capital Reykyavik which lies on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean. Having climbed the highest mountains in the UK in 24 hours in 2007 for theThreePeaks Challenge and then navigating down the worlds second longest fjord in Norway last summer, the adventure seekers were again inspired to take on an even tougher test of endurance which gets underway on April 26th 2009.
Money raised from their epic journey will be split between The Great Western Air Ambulance which relies solely on donations to provide it's airborne medical services to the public, and the PRA Benevolent Fund - a charity supporting past and present professional rugby players in times of serious injury, illness or hardship, and in furthering their education.
