JUST A REMINDER - WE START ON FRIDAY 11 JUNE - WISH US LUCK!
On January 4th 2010 a few members of Brunel 20s & 30s Walking Group got together to celebrate a friend's birthday and a drunken conversation in the pub ensued.
What they agreed to
The next morning they woke to realise they'd committed themselves to the UK's premier mountain/driving endurance event - the THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE. Worse, they realised that they had told everybody about it (while drunk) so there was no backing out.
So, starting late on the evening of 11th June 2010, Paul Street, Lisa Gibson, Andy Borrott and Robin Kellett will climb:
- Ben Nevis (1,344m) in Scotland - starting approx 8.30pm
- Scafell Pike (978m) in England - starting approx 5am the next morning
- Snowdon (1,085m) in Wales - starting approx 3.30pm later that afternoon
... all within 24 hours! Including the immense 465-mile drive starting in Fort William and ending in the shadow of the Llanberis Car Park the following evening - which will be undertaken solo by master driver Suze Holder.
We need your help
In order to make the insanity, blisters and inevitable bickering worthwhile, Paul, Andy, Lisa, Robin & Suzanne will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Relief - and they'd appreciate your support.
Please give what you can for this extremely worthy cause and if you can, please also tick the Gift Aid box to maximise the impact.
Thank you - and please wish us luck!
