How did it all begin, well, over  a quiet curry one night with a few mates thinking we should do something for Charity, some bright spark said, “What about walking The Welsh 3,000’s”?

Without sounding too Welsh, I won’t lie to you, I’d never ‘eard of ‘em...

Anyway, The Welsh 3000’s were mentioned and the challenge was set.  A few words loomed in my mind; somewhere in that list were “Crib Goch”.  It’s one of Snowdonia’s most treacherous mountains, basically a ridge, at 3,000ft (915m), sometimes only a foot wide, and which has a sheer drop of 1,000ft to one side and a near vertical slope plummeting 500ft to the other. 

Well, it can’t be that difficult can it......!

Anyway, training has been underway for the last few months for the big day on 24^th July 2010.

The challenge is to walk, climb, scramble across all of the 15 peaks in Snowdonia that are over 3000 ft. within 24 hrs.  Setting off around 2 am on 24^th July from Pen y Pass, approx. 30 miles lay ahead and an ascent of around 15,000ft.

I have decided to raise money for HELP FOR HEROES, I think you’ll agree it is a fantastic charity and I hope you’ll find that this is a worthwhile cause for you to sponsor me.
