Story

HELLO ! Thank you for visiting  our Buy a Brick – Help Build a Future webpage :o)

On the shores of Lake Malawi, in remote lies Cobue village.

In Cobue there is a secondary school,  built with funding from the MandaWilderness Project.  This small school provides education for 500+ pupils; however there are also children who live great distances from the school (up to 150km), and having no relatives to stay with in Cobue, are unable to attend.

We want to change the situation and to help these children, and children in the future, to access vital education by providing a boarding house;  firstly one for girls, and then one for boys -  safe, supervised accommodation which  we hope will have an additional benefit of potentially reducing teenage pregnancies and exposure to HIV.

To build one enduring boarding house, for 40 children, able to withstand the dry and rainy seasons will cost £6000. Bricks are the single most expensive material  and we need lots of them ….30,000 bricks at 5p each. A bag of bricks will cost £5 and 1200 bags will raise the necessary funds.

Financial support given here, by you, will be translated, miles away, into changing these children’s lives and helping them and the next generatations to realise brighter futures.

Thank you very much  for your help.
