Story
Hi, my name is Callum, I'm 18 and I'm from Aylesbury.
I am putting my life on hold for 50 hours to live inside a glass box to help Caudwell Children raise awareness of autism.
The box will be situated in the foyer of the Tesco store where I have worked as a Dairy Customer Assistant since 2014, and I will be in full view of the public.
I will enter the box at 10am on Wednesday 30th March, and if successful, will leave at Noon on Friday 1st April - and no, this is not an April Fool!
Parents of autistic children have told the charity that the glass box is a really powerful metaphor for autism - being stared at from all directions, whilst being isolated and finding it difficult to communicate is often how people living with the condition feel.
Volunteers and staff from Caudwell Children will be on hand throughout the 50 hours, offering support and information to people who want to know more about autism - and all money raised over the course of the challenge will help autistic children in Aylesbury.
Mobile phones and gadgets are banned from the box, which may prove a struggle at times, so I'm calling on all my friends and regular customers to come on down and support me in-store. Of course it's Easter, so hopefully I will have no end of visitors!
You can donate to my challenge in-store or here on justgiving. You can also text: LIFA98 £amount 70070
Thank you for supporting me and let's raise as much autism awareness as we can!
Callum
