IUAD Board member, Dave Carey has launched a charity challenge whereby he is completing twenty 5km runs, in 2025 (100km in total) for Insurance Day for Dementia (IDFD) 2025 and in memory of his Mum, who sadly lost her battle against this horrific disease in December 2024.

Dementia is not limited by geography, it impacts families everywhere and so Dave will be taking his running shoes along for the ride as he works across the UK, with 5km runs planned across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Wales.

This is where it gets interesting... and where Dave needs YOU!

Dave is hoping for as many, insurers, brokers, and those working across the wider industry to get involved and join him for a 5K run in a location near them, not only tracking their own 5K run for IDFD, but also raising funds and awareness of dementia with friends, family and colleagues.

This campaign is an opportunity to truly UNITE with those across the industry, and do something amazing to ensure critical dementia research can continue, alongside vital support services for those living with this cruel disease.
