Story

The current pandemic has meant that many events have been cancelled with this year's Great North Run being one of them. It is a fantastic day which many look forward to and it will be a huge miss.

However, there's no need to let your training go to waste! We've decided to put on the 13.1 Challenge which everyone can join in with, no matter your age, ability or whether you were taking part in the Great North Run or not!

It's up to you to set yourself a challenge, depending on how you feel about running. You might wish to do a walk or you might want to take part with your dogs/s or child so feel free to make your challenge your own.

Please set yourself up a fundraising page and link it to this campaign so we know who's taking part and we can spur each other on. If you would like a fundraising pack sent out, please email fundraising@dogandcatshelter.com for your pack!

We've outlined some versions of the challenge below as examples but we'd love to hear which challenge you're planning to do. Please let us know and tag us on social media.

Option 1: Run 131 miles in the month of September.

Option 2: Run 13.1 miles each week in September.

Option 3: Run 13.1 miles in the month of September.

The options are endless. Pick an option which is a challenge for you and let's get started!

A group of our staff members are taking on the challenge of running 131 miles in the month of September. Donations on this page would be very much appreciated. All of the money raised will help us to look after more animals in the North East. We can't thank you enough for your support and for making a huge difference!
