Story
For 150 years, Mothers’ Union has stood beside women and families facing poverty, violence, and injustice. Fundraising ensures we can continue to be a source of hope, strength, and change where it is needed most — in 2026 and beyond.
This fundraising challenge is a huge collective effort. By donating today, you’re contributing to the fundraising efforts of our members and supporters all over Britain & Ireland, and around the world.
This page is the hub for the fundraising activity of hundreds of members and supporters, and every donation to any of the linked fundraising challenges feeds into our collective total. Click on any fundraising page on the right of this page to see what our members and supporters are up to - we hope it inspires you to donate, get involved, and learn more about Mothers' Union!
When you donate to Mothers’ Union, your money goes towards supporting our mission to strengthen families and transform communities in Britain & Ireland, and around the world. Our wide range of programmes and projects include raising awareness on domestic abuse and modern slavery, working to support prisoners and their families, and providing respite for vulnerable families through our flagship AFIA (Away From It All) scheme that has been running for over 60 years in Britain and Ireland. Globally, we fund literacy programmes, savings and credit groups, and parenting and gender-based violence awareness programmes.

Whether you choose to donate here or take on your own fundraising challenge, you’ll be contributing to the same shared goal: supporting families and communities, now and for the future.
All funds raised will be allocated flexibly, broadly split across our funding of projects in Britain and Ireland, and overseas. This means we can respond quickly to urgent needs, strengthen existing work and invest in long-term, community led solutions. This flexibility is intentional, it’s how we maximise impact and ensure every pound works as hard as possible.
