Story
The National Church Residences Hospice Caregiver Support Fund provides specially trained helpers to families caring for a loved one on hospice at home, helping to alleviate caregiver burnout and prevent caregiver crisis.
John's primary caregivers were his devoted wife Sue and daughter Melissa. When John's Hospice Social Worker noted Sue and Melissa were experiencing caregiver fatigue, she suggested that they spend time together away from the house. Because of our program, a private duty aide was provided for John. He enjoyed sharing his many life stories with his aide, and Sue and Melissa had quality mother-daughter time each week.
