CYCLE CYPRUS CHALLENGE 2024

Industry friends and colleagues are joining together in September for this year's Hair & Beauty Charity bike ride across Cyprus, to raise much needed funds to support the Charity's vital work.

Our riders, equipped with a carbon road bike and infectious team spirit, will explore the island with like-minded colleagues along bespoke bike routes, led by Victor Pajak of Headquarters Hair Salon in Surrey.

This year we've upped the ante and challenged our riders to 4 days' worth of intense cycling, covering 300+ km across the island at varying elevations.

The Hair & Beauty Charity provides practical and financial assistance to hair and beauty professionals fallen on hard times. We offer support to help people get back on their feet and ultimately back into work.

The last five years has seen a 1200% rise in applications from people aged 18-30, a 300% rise in male applicants aged 31-40 (since 2019), and an influx of requests from beauty therapists.

There has also been a shocking rise in applications from those fleeing domestic violence, or unable to work due to trauma following a sexual attack - a 120% rise from 2020-2023.

The Charity gives support through financial payments to help with everyday home running costs, clothes, toys and furniture (beds, carpets and washing machines, for example) if required, especially for families needing rehousing. We often replace professional kit items where appropriate, and offer opportunities for refresher training and mentoring.

ALL fundraising generated from this, and every event, allows the Charity to continue supporting industry colleagues, helping make life a little easier for those often with nowhere else to turn.
