Chillin’4 for Charity – Presented by UNBC JDC West

Each November, the incredible team from UNBC JDC West takes part in one of the coldest — and kindest — fundraisers of the year: Chillin’4 for Charity. With hearts full of purpose and courage to match, students, coaches, faculty, and community members take the plunge into an icy pool of water — all in support of local causes that make a real difference across Northern BC.

JDC West is more than a business competition — it’s a leadership movement. The program develops some of the highest-caliber young business professionals in the country, enhancing leadership, teamwork, and technical skills through real-world challenges. Participants learn to collaborate with other high achievers, tackle complex problems, and present strategic solutions with confidence.

Beyond academic excellence, one of JDC West’s main goals is to foster community-minded, socially responsible leaders. Through events like Chillin’4 for Charity, the UNBC team demonstrates that success isn’t just measured by grades or awards — it’s measured by heart. Each year, the team selects several local charitable organizations to support through both fundraising and volunteerism, and we’re proud that Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is among them.
