From 7th-15th June 2025, a team of business leaders will tackle the “26 Mountains 2 Mayo” challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for children and young people impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland.
Inspired by Rory’s “Miles 2 Mayo” campaign in 2023, this gruelling 9-day challenge will see this dedicated group climb to the highest point in every county across Ireland. Starting with Errigal in Donegal, they will cover the hills and mountains across Ulster, before moving into Connacht, across to Leinster and down to Munster before making their way back to Connacht for the final leg.
Each week, across the island of Ireland, approximately 10 children and young people (aged 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer Fund for Children's vision is that these children and their families, don't face this experience alone.
Meet Sophie
Cancer Fund for Children have a mission to help ensure that children don't face cancer alone. Children like me.
With events like '26 Mountains 2 Mayo' and amazing people like you by our side, we can continue to be there for Sophie and thousands more young people just like her.
Cancer Fund for Children’s team of Cancer Support Specialists provide community support throughout 32 counties ensuring that regardless of where a family lives, they can access support.
Short breaks at Daisy Lodge in Co. Down give children and their families time to rest, reconnect and rebuild, in a safe and supportive environment.
Due to high demand, only 1 in 7 families in need of support are able to avail of a therapeutic break. This unmet need is the driving force for developing a second Daisy Lodge in Cong Co. Mayo. This second centre will allow us to increase the number of children and parents we support each year from 1,800 to 4,000.
It simply wouldn't be possible without you.
