Akwaaba Volunteers have known Ruby since 2018, some of you may know her from our documentary Second Chance. Ruby is Benedicta and her siblings mum and she lost her leg in an accident years ago. For the last year Ruby has been struggling with pain in her leg and the fitting of her current prosthetic leg. Without being able to use her leg Ruby is struggling to work, take care of her family and do her normal day to day activities. We are taking on the 3 peaks challenge to raise money to get a new prosthetic leg for Ruby, so she can take on her own challenges every day.

In 24 hours we will cover 55KM and climb 3 different peaks in Ghana. It will definitely be a challenge but it will be life changing for Ruby and her kids to be able to do fun things with their mum again.

If we are able to raise more than we need for the leg we will use the remainder of the money to support Ruby to set up her own small business so she can use her new income to help support her family better.
