Story
The Challenge
30 Miles for 30 Years celebrates our commitment to woodland restoration, heathland protection, and community conservation across Sherwood Forest and beyond.
We’ll provide the tools for you to organise, plan, promote and fundraise. You just have to walk (or cycle, or run if you really want to!) your 30 miles of the Robin Hood Way.
There is no time limit, you can do it all in one go, you can break it down into multiple shorter sessions, you can do it in groups. However you want to do it!
The Robin Hood Way is a magnificent 105 mile long distance footpath, which winds through Nottinghamshire, linking Nottingham Castle to St Mary’s Church in Edwinstowe. It takes you through beautiful woodland, heathland, and heritage sites.
Why it matters
The funds raised from this campaign will power our volunteer hub and community tree nursery over the next 2 years.
This will help local people grow and care for 20,000 native Sherwood trees from seeds collected locally, by us and our volunteers.
These new trees will be planted out to restore lost woodland and create vital wildlife habitat, as well as storing carbon, which will benefit our future generations for years to come.
