Story

Take on the 60/30 Challenge and walk 60 miles in the 30 days of September to raise money for abandoned and unwanted cats and dogs!

It's no secret that the lockdown of 2020 changed life as we once knew it! We spent more time indoors, we worked from home and were isolated from our loved ones. Food shopping became our only excursion, baking of banana bread increased tenfold and we all enjoyed long walks to the fridge! Whilst our activity levels may have been pretty low, now restrictions are easing we can change all of that. And what better incentive than to do so for a great cause!!

The National Animal Welfare Trust in Clacton rescue and rehome hundreds of cats and dogs each year. We receive no government funding and rely wholeheartedly on the generosity of our supporters. Covid-19 has severely affected both our operations and our funding. We had no choice but to close our doors to the public and were forced to cancel all of our physical fundraising activities.

Not to be beaten, we're on the hunt for people willing to take on the 60/30 Challenge! Challengers will be required to walk, run or cycle 60 miles over 30 days- that's the equivalent of just 2 miles per day! They'll have access to our Challengers community online as well as be in with the chance to win spot prizes. We encourage our challengers to ask their friends and family to support their efforts with a small financial contribution.

So, think you're up to the challenge? You can be sure there's a whole team of paws and waggy tails rooting for you!
