Amelia has a beautiful home; a house that is not overlooked and plenty of land. A rivers runs along the bottom of her land, and is central to her life, and to Maya culture. Her children play in it every day, the community catch fish, and families come down to wash themselves and their clothes.
But the beautiful river is drying up, and becoming contaminated. Amelia remembers the water being waist height. Like all women and children, she has to walk to the community well for water but the well is also drying.
Aurelia, 53, is a grandmother and community leader. She has made a real impact in her community and on her own life. However, she is still feeling the harshest impact of climate change this year.
For people like Amelia and Aurelia, the climate crisis makes the future seem uncertain but your kind donations can help them to access resilient farming techniques, establish their businesses and build profits to continue to provide for their families.
