Story
For essential health services, like a cataracts removal operation, older adults in Niger sometimes end up waiting a decade or more. According to the United Nations, Niger is the least developed country in the world. On the global Human Development Index, it ranks 189th out of 189 countries observed.
I am lending my support to elderly people going blind with cataracts in Niger. Please support my campaign and help me give the Gift of Sight to 300 people in one of the world's poorest countries.

Most of the country's 22 million population live in clusters in the south and west. Climate change, desertification, and inadequate public health services have left hundreds of thousands of older people with limited or zero access to eye care.
WHY THIS CAMPAIGN?
An estimated 20 million people across Africa are blind or visually impaired, more than 75% of which is entirely avoidable. This is an urgent problem that needs an immediate solution."
Muntada Aid has been in Niger delivering long-term humanitarian assistance and water solutions to communities for over three decades now. In 2021, Muntada performed1500 cataracts opeartions in Niger.

In 2022, Muntada will be performing another 3000 such surgeries in Niger.
The operations will be carried out in Niamey, Maradi, Tahoua and in Ndjamena.
Besides the cataract operations, Muntada Aid will provide patients with eye drops, pain killers, anaesthesia for children, and other medication they may need to overcome this crippling condition.
Please support my campaign, and give the Gift of Sight.
