Story

The British Society of Echocardiography is a registered charity which represents and supports clinical echocardiography professionals working at all levels and in all areas of the field. Their aim is to provide our members with the necessary support to deliver the highest standard of care in echocardiography.

This year, their annual conference, BSEcho 2021, will be held virtually for the second time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. #BSEMiles is their way of coming together as a community again. In 2020, 50 BSE members took on the challenge on social media, some with families and friends, to run, walk and ride over 2500 miles thats more than 96 marathons! At BSEcho 2021 they want to build on that, so they are calling on you to walk, run, cycle or swim as many miles as you can to see how far we can go together throughout the conference!

For instance, to get from BSE headquarters to EACVI headquarters is 853 miles. 1018 miles will take us to Dr Israel Valverde in Seville. If we can accumulate 1487 miles, we can reach Dr Kalliopi Keramida in Athens and 3550 miles would see us in Toronto with Dr Paaladinesh Thavendiranathan!

Its easy to take part, just track your miles, let them know on Twitter and Instagram using #BSEMiles and theyll keep the running total.
