Story

Spend one night under the stars and experience a deeper understanding of the realities of homelessness. Join with your community to make a stand against homelessness and raise vital funds to support the life saving services the charity provide.

There is a homeless emergency growing in West Sussex as more and more people are depending on the support and accommodation of Turning Tides. In the last 12 months, they supported over 900 people across the county.

By fundraising for this event you will be supporting the charity to help more people - so they can ensure no one faces the trauma of homelessness alone.

Ruth Poyner, Head of Fundraising shared her hopes for the event, Turning Tides have held SleepOut events for many years but as this is our 30th anniversary we really wanted as many people as possible to experience a fraction of what it is like to be homeless. If every participant gained a deeper understanding and connection then we can be the catalyst for change. Sleeping rough is not a choice. Regardless of the time of year, it takes its toll physically, emotionally and mentally. Whilst we are holding this event in the safety of the Football Club we want everyone to share in this experience so the community can join us in striving towards ending local homelessness.
