Each night up to 30 parents can be spending the night with their child here in our children's ward. Most of them still catch a little sleep in a bedside chair.

A good nights rest will enable parents to cope a little better with their sick children who, in turn, will respond much better to a calm and rested parent.

At a cost of £850 each, these state-of-the-art, heavy-duty space-saving beds are specially developed for accommodating patients' relatives overnight, where space is at a premium. The beds meet current Health & Safety, Manual Handling and Infection Control requirements. They can be cleaned and disinfected just like a conventional hospital bed.
