What is Emmies Kitchen?

Emmies kitchen was set up after our daughter/ granddaughter was diagnosed with leukaemia and had to spend lots of time in RMCH. As a parent it became obvious quite quickly that the availability of home made tasty food is extremely limited whilst staying at hospital and is often an added pressure for many to access/ afford a wholesome meal.

What we do

Emmies kitchen is provides parents of children staying in the hospital with a free, cooked tasty take away meal and a snack bag at the moment this is offered once a week

Our vision

It is apparent that looking after the well being of parents is imperative in their childs recovery. Emmies Kitchen hopes that by recognising the emotional and social needs of parents with a seriously ill child, we will be able to offer a more holistic view of the family. As by ensuring that the parents are supported practically and emotionally they would be more able to cope and care for their child.
