Glasgow Street Aid provides medical and welfare assistance in Glasgow city centre on a Friday & Saturday evening till 4am. Our aim is to take the pressure off our emergency services by providing urgent care. We are a small team of volunteers made up of Pre hospital responders, Nurses & Paramedics.

Story

Glasgow Street Aid is a medical and welfare charity based in Glasgow, Scotland and is ran entirely by volunteers. We operate from Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening till 4am and provide medical and welfare support to people on the streets of Glasgow. We were established in October 2020, became a registered charity in January 2021, and we currently have 36 volunteers. We are continuously expanding, and we are entirely funded by donations, fundraising, grants, and sponsorships. We purchased an ambulance that allows us to have a safe, bright, warm, and clean environment to treat people in. It also allows us to convey patients safely to A&E.

The volunteers of Glasgow Street Aid are determined to provide high quality care to all those who use our services. Since forming in 2020, we have been committed to developing our services, purchasing a treatment room vehicle, adding to and upgrading our first aid equipment and resources, and recruiting and training more volunteers. We have just began running a control room.

We now need your help! We need additional funds to purchase a building in Glasgow City Centre as our previous landlord has moved out of Glasgow. The new building we aim to purchase is in an ideal city centre location and will allow us to treat patients in a warm, hygienic and private facility with medical and welfare areas, as well as a volunteer rest room. It will provide appropriate access for those with mobility issues, and a wide entrance will mean stretcher cases can be transferred in and out if required.
