Story
We are appealing for donations to make sure that no one suffers from isolation, hunger or struggles to heat their homes this winter.
Many Hertfordshire residents will be facing a winter like no other. An anticipated surge in redundancies due to the end of the government furlough scheme, cuts to universal credit and soaring fuel prices mean that more people will increasingly be unable to cover the basic costs of living such as food, heating and other essentials.
Our annual Winter Poverty Appeal is raising funds to offer a lifeline to local families and vulnerable elderly residents.
With the help of donations from Hertfordshire residents and organisations we provide vital grants to cover fuel and food costs, activities to reduce loneliness and isolation and support to help those in need to access specialist services and community groups.
This winter will be a very, very difficult one for many. If you are in the position to do so, please make a donation. If you receive the Winter Fuel Payment, and don't need it, please consider donating an equivalent or part of it to the appeal. We will ensure that it helps a local resident this winter.
