Story
It is not right that anyone should need emergency food to get by.
Please stand with us in helping local people experiencing hardship as we move into another challenging year, by making a donation.
At Horsham District Foodbank we believe that everyone should have the basics; a home, electricity, water and enough money to buy food, but every day too many people wake up without these.
Quote from a foodbank user: you really are a brilliant charity and my family and I are so grateful for your help. I have worked up until this pandemic and it has crippled us financially and without your help I really don't know what I'd do.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Horsham Foodbank has supported more people than ever in our local community including those who were furloughed, made redundant or evicted. In 2022 we face new challenges while the pandemic continues to affect our lives. With the costs of fuel, food and energy increasing sharply, requests for help have risen at a time when food stock donations have also dropped off - over 600 adults and children were provided with emergency food in both May and June 2022.
Over 50% of foodbank users in June cited the cost of living increases and lack of savings as the reason they were seeking help.
Our Foodbank provides a 3 day parcel of long-life emergency food supplemented by fresh food that has been donated by partner charities and local businesses. Once registered for support, these parcels can be accessed via any of six local foodbank sessions or locations where our mobile Foodbank hub stops; North Horsham, Pulborough, Storrington, Southwater, Billingshurst, Broadbridge Heath, Warnham & Henfield
We are also tackling the underlying causes that lead to someone asking for assistance from us, with budgeting support and debt advice on offer to help clients maximize their income and work towards a sustainable budget.
Financial contributions to Horsham Foodbank are crucial to keeping our services running. They are used not just to buy food and toiletries when stocks are low but also to keep the lights on and fuel the vehicles that deliver foodbank sessions and collect food donations. Any donation, large or small will contribute enormously .
Thank you for your support.
