Story
Originally June 19th now Friday 18th September @ 7pm
It's BACK - Our biggest fundraiser of the year returns, but with a bit of a twist!
Due to social distancing measures and COVID-19 restrictions, the 10th anniversary of Ladies in the Night Walk has had to be revised from its original format. Traditionally, our night-time event is a 5.5 or 10-mile walk around Northwood and the surrounding areas, starting at 10pm.
This year, our Fundraising Team has been working hard to come up with an idea to celebrate this milestone year - and make it as much fun as possible for everyone taking part! We hope our supporters (men, women, children and our four legged friends!) will get behind our much loved annual walk once again, and help us raise much-needed funds to support the specialist care provided at our beloved Hospice.
On September 18th, if every supporter sets themselves our Ladies Around The Block challenge (and this year it really will be that), we could raise thousands of pounds for the Hospice in just one special night!
How Ladies Around The Block will work
The evening will start at 7.00pm with a fun, Facebook LIVE streamed warm-up to get walkers raring to go before setting off to walk around their block or local street (keeping within government guidelines which are subject to change).
The choice is yours!
Reach your target distance of 5.5 or 10 miles with a group of up to 6 people with those you do not live with, but you should do this while observing social distancing guidelines and keeping at least 2 metres apart.
Teams: If you are planning a team entry, remember that a group of 6 people is the Government's current maximum number for safe social distancing.
1. Relay-style walk Walk part of your chosen distance around your block covering your chosen miles, and then your family/friends can continue the distance to cover your total target or to accumulate even more miles.
2. Rock-n-Roll continually You and your family/friends can walk around your block multiple times to hit your chosen target distance in miles.
