Story

PBC is an autoimmune condition that affects the liver. In really simple terms the body thinks the bile ducts inside your liver are foreign objects and attacks them. There is no cure. Even after liver transplant, the new liver is prone to the same attack again. The PBC Foundation supports patients and families in 78 countries. We support over 13,000 patients directly. We have zero government funding so every pound counts. Our helpline operates 24 hours a day, 356 days a year. NHS estimates have 22,000 PBC patients in the UK.

Cost to any patient or carer accessing our services, be that helpline, website, conferences, webinars, local meetings, self-management sessions, self-management app or our magazine. £0

Why not bring your friends and family together to raise awareness by discussing your numbers and help raise much needed funds. Feel free to send us your fundraising stories and pictures. If you have any questions please contact the office on 0131 556 6811 or email info@pbcfoundation.org.uk
