One in ten men in Scotland is at risk of prostate cancer and nearly one in two is likely to have prostate disease at some stage in their life. Over 4,000 people are diagnosed with prostate cancer in Scotland a year. Prostate Scotland is working in partnership with the Grand Lodge of Scotland to help ameliorate the effects of going through treatment for prostate cancer and disease, as well as to research further into the impact of living with prostate disease. Together we are aiming to make available special care packs (PROSPACKS) to help to men in Scotland going through treatment if they are having surgery, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy for prostate cancer. These packs will contain a range of helpful and essential items to help men as they go through treatment. We are also aiming to take forward research into living with prostate disease.

The Masons4Munro Challenge involves a novel and exciting challenge to raise charity funds for The Grand Lodge of Scotland to support the PROSPACK initiative being organised by Prostate Scotland.

The Challenge involves representatives from each of the Provinces within Grand Lodge to hike a series of Munro mountains in Scotland within the month of June this year. Each walk will be led by qualified mountaineers, including a Mountain Leader.

The event will be held over three weekends in June 2023 in the form of individual day walks.

The dates are:

Weekend 1:

Day 1 - 10th June 2023 a day walk leaving the Lawers car park above Killin taking in Beinn Ghlas (1103m), Ben Lawers (1214m) and Meall nan Tarmachan (1044m)

Day 2 - 11th June 2023 a day walk leaving from The Falls of Edinample, nearby Lochearnhead to Ben Vorlich (985m) and Stuc a Chroin (975m)
