The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileJust over two years ago, Patrick Foster found himself on the verge of suicide as a result of his crippling gambling addiction.
Having been supported on the road to recovery by the Professional Cricketers Trust, Patrick is now aiming to give back to the players charity by completing 1,000km on foot during the first 100 days of lockdown.
With his efforts, Patrick is hoping to offset part of the £250,000 annual shortfall the charity currently faces as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I dont know if I would still be here today if I hadnt received the incredible support of the Trust. Their impact is not just life-changing, but life-saving.
The ex-Northants man is asking for the support of the cricket community to help him reach his fundraising target of £1,000 by 30 June. As of 22 June, Patrick has completed 986.6km in 92 days, putting him ahead of his daunting schedule.
It is not the first time Patrick has opted to give something back to the cricket community. Over the past 18 months, the former fast bowler and his employer, EPIC Risk Management, have worked with the Trust and the PCA to deliver gambling harm awareness sessions for every professional cricketer in England and Wales, as well as academy trainees.
"I can never repay the Trust or the PCA for what they've done for me, but in a way it feels like I'm giving something back and making what I hope is a real difference.
"I've not set out to change the world, but if I can help one person then it will all be worth it."
