Story
This May, Race to the Base is back and BIGGER than ever!
Choose your team, choose your distance and raise as much as possible for your local air ambulance so we can continue our life-saving work across the North East, North Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Isle of Man.
Cover the distance that our critical care team fly when returning to base from the North's major trauma centres and, this year, from the Isle of Man too.
You can run, walk, cycle, ride, paddle... tackle your miles however you choose!
*Team captain and pilot JJ will be covering 32 miles - the distance from the RVI in Newcastle to our Teesside airbase.
*Join Dr Greta's team and take on 78 miles, covering the distance from the RVI to our base in Langwathby and back to our HQ in Eaglecliffe.
* Be part of paramedic Mike's team tackling 130 miles. This is the distance from the RVI to both of our bases and back again.
*NEW for 2023! Join paramedic Lee's team for the Supercharged challenge: 380 miles, the distance from the RVI to our Cumbria airbase, on to Noble's hospital on the Isle of Man, to Aintree hospital, and finally, back to Progress House in Teesside. Can you take on the ultimate Race to the Base?
