The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Skylarks helps children and young people with additional needs, including Down syndrome, ASD, hearing or visual impairment, cerebral palsy, developmental delay and rare syndromes. We offer opportunities for play and development and provide information and emotional support for families.
Story
"Skylarks has had a big impact on my family. My child was immediately understood and accepted was which wonderful. The help they have given me has made a real difference and I don't feel alone". Parent Carer
Skylarks is a welcoming space where children with disabilities and additional needs can play being themselves without judgement with their whole family. As well as play sessions, children can take part in activities which they may be excluded from in the mainstream - yoga, karate, cooking classes, drama, music therapy, arts and crafts and a relax in the quiet safe space of the sensory room.
For parents they are empowered with knowledge on relevant training sessions, advice, workshops, networking and connecting with others in a similar situation. There's nowhere else out there in one place. With all core services moved online in March Skylarks welcomed in an additional 130 new families during lockdown.
Set up in 2006 Skylarks are celebrating their 15th anniversary so with restrictions having had a huge impact on their fundraising, please, if you can, help to support local children and their families. Thank you.
