Rise supports most important project yet - We are hoping to provide our Palestinian brothers and sisters with clean drinking water which is safe for them to drink.

The single biggest cause of death amongst children in Palestine is drinking contaminated water. The UN and whole of humanity recognises access to clean water as a human right but many of our Palestinian brothers and sisters sadly do not have this.

A staggering 97% of water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption, and the entire population relies on a single aquifer, which is chronically contaminated due to the usage of pesticide on their water. This means that families that cant afford the extortionate prices for clean water are forced to drink water that is polluted by seawater and sewage. In the facilities for desalinating and treating water function on only a limited basis, as Israel controls the flow of fuel and supplies into the region.

Both electricity and fuel shortage problems complicate the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The situation in Gaza deteriorated as the fuel offered by OCHA, which is needed to run the water and sewage plants, is now sadly running out.

RISE SUPPORTS PLAN.

For months, we have been searching to find a way to have a positive long term impact on our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Our plan is to install a desalination unit and deep water well - Where up to 50,000 litres of water can be extracted every 24 hours. This can provide water to up to 20,000 people daily.

With the money that we raise, we also plan on purchasing 20 water tanks which will be strategically located across the Gaza strip. We believe that your donations can have a huge impact on thousands of our brothers and sisters who are in desperate need of it.

The cost of this will be approximately £16,000 - we are hoping that this page alongside many other fundraisers will contribute to the cost of the desalination unit, deep water well and 20 water tanks. Please share to help us reach our goal.

This fundraiser will only contribute towards our first phase of providing water to the Palestinians in need - Once we have installed both our desalination unit and water well, and have also located our 20 tanks - We plan on fundraising for phase 2 which will allow our well and unit to provide for a larger amount of people daily as we plan on purchasing a large tanker which goes to the desalitation unit, gets filled up and delivers clean water to our 20 water tanks which are located around Gaza.
