Story
We have partnered with Bowel Cancer UK to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
Bowel cancer is Scotland's second biggest cancer killer with 1,600 people losing their lives every year. However it shouldn't be as it is treatable and curable, especially if diagnosed early. Surgery is central to curing bowel cancer as almost all bowel cancer patients will need an operation. The appeal will fund research to improve bowel cancer surgery to save lives, and reduce life-altering side-effects so more people can lead a normal life after treatment.
Staff from both the College and Surgeons Quarter will be taking part in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year. You can keep a track of our activities on social media @surgeonsquarter and @RCSEd.
