There is hope has been serving the community in Dzaleka for many years in one of Africa's largest refugee camps. They do this by investing in providing access to education, training people in vocation and business and supporting and mentoring local leaders.

Currently There is Hope is running a wide range of programs that aim to help the refugee community at Dzaleka Rafugee Camp. They strongly believe that real help has to do with more than just the emergency response to the basic needs of people in crisis. Their aim is to educate, trained and empower the vulnerable and displaced people, give the dignity, respect, sense of belonging, care and love.

This work has become even more key at this time of global crisis, with the Covid-19 pandemic. The residents of the Dzaleka Refugee Camp are already struggling to meet basic needs, and this additional pressure on resources and the economy is impacting communities like this one the hardest.

During this time, There is Hope has extended it's support, providing a range of additional emergency responses as well as developing their current response to meet the need of the current situation. This includes distributing vital resources such as buckets, soap and maize to people across the whole of the community. In addition, they have developed their sewing social enterprise (Kibebe) to focus on designing and creating resources for this season. They have almost doubled the capacity of workers and are producing face masks and other personal protection equipment which is much needed in the area.
