Visit the charity's profileThis year the Wales Millennium Centre turns 15 years old, and we are asking people like you to take part in a once in a lifetime opportunity: the chance to abseil down the front of our iconic building.
By taking part you'll help us reach our fundraising goal of £15,000 which will help us to provide:
- Workshops for young people
- Taster days
- Work-based training
- Free family programme, all year round
These activities will help to nurture the talents of those held back by poverty, vulnerability and disadvantage, helping to provide self-belief, hope and growth.
For those taking part, the abseil will happen in two locations on our building: the smaller line runs down our slate wall which overlooks the Roald Dahl Plas, and the larger line runs down our famous inscription Creu Gwir Fel Gwydr O Ffwrnais Awen - In These Stones Horizons Sing. The first to fundraise over £200 will be offered the limited chance to abseil down the inscription if theyd like. The abseil will be hosted on Saturday, June 8th 2019, with a host of other activities happening on the ground to entertain family, friends and spectators.
By attempting this challenge, you will be doing it to raise funds for the Centre (registered charity 1060458). We work every day to broaden people's horizons and offer young people in Wales access to the arts. Working in partnership with organisations like Grassroots and Valleys Kids, and festivals like Boomtown, we seek to help those who have tougher lives than most experience the arts, and the pleasure and life enhancement that it brings.
