Story

This year’s 30K in a day challenge will take place on 8th August 2025 and will see Team Fairplay back in the Lake District, tackling 7 Wainwrights, starting and finishing at Dale Head near Honister Slate Mine. The highest point on the walk is Grasmoor Fell at 852 meters.

The ‘Team Fairplay 30K in a Day 2025’ is in memory of Lucy Hardwick, a teenager with complex disabilities who attended Fairplay for many years and who sadly passed away in August of last year. Lucy was such a friendly, smiley, happy teenage girl who loved to have lots of fun whilst being cared for by Fairplay staff at the Home Based Support sessions. Her amazing smile lit up the room, especially when she was surrounded by her many friends.

Funds from the walk will go towards ensuring that Fairplay can provide essential play and youth club activities to children and young people with a wide range of disabilities, children and young people just like Lucy.

Making up the team are Fairplay staff, friends of Fairplay and many kind-hearted supporters. To donate please press the blue 'Give Now' button!
