Story

On the 25th July 2025 we will be facing the highest abseil in Derbyshire, free-hanging over a 100-foot gorge to raise funds for our Independent Living Service.

We are a small, local charity based in Stoke-on-Trent that delivers vital in-person services and support for people with sight loss living in North Staffordshire. We offer a number of support services but we are doing this abseil to raise money for our Independent Living Service.

This service provides people with specialist one-to-one advice and support to help increase independence and wellbeing following sight loss. Support can include, but is not limited to:

-Support to find out about equipment that can help with daily tasks such as reading, cooking, making a drink, and getting around

-Support to access grants for equipment and essential items

-Support with Welfare Rights Issues

-Help with forms and applications

-Advice about registration

-Connecting people to other services and support, including social opportunities and statutory services

We would be very grateful for any donations. It makes such a difference to us as a small charity, and to the individuals who use our services.
