The 2022 decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case overturned the longstanding Constitutional right to abortion and eliminated federal standards on abortion access that had been established by earlier decisions in the cases, Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Since the ruling, access to abortion services has become illegal or severely restricted in states across the country.
