Story
We are the region’s “one-stop shop” charity – supporting thousands of people every year in areas from homelessness to money matters, and community safety to drug and alcohol recovery. We supported more than 7,000 people in the last year alone, many of whom will have used several services under our umbrella – with our unique status as a “one-stop shop” meaning service users will only need to tell their story once, regardless of how many ACT services they need. We have a proud history of more than 50 years based in the heart of the county.
As a registered charity, Anglia Care Trust is totally reliant on funding to continue the work that we do. In the present economic climate, the demand for our services is ever increasing and we believe this trend will continue for the next few years at least.
With funding from local authorities and national trust and grant-awarding bodies, we run many of our services; however, we are always looking to raise funds to enable us to expand our services, and also to enhance the support that we provide to our service users. We have an Empowerment Fund, funded purely by donations, for ad hoc expenses that cannot be covered by loans and grants. Our Empowerment Fund provides money for things like:
* Travel and clothing allowances for interviews for our unemployed service users
* Furniture for those people that we house
* Clothing and toys for families that have fled their homes for whatever reason.
