Our vision is a society where homelessness is eradicated. AHAG works towards reducing the impact that homelessness & insecure housing has on both the individual & the wider community. This is achieved through supporting people to access safe, affordable housing & address any underlying issues.

Story

At Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG) we provide emotional support, practical advice, mental health guidance and legal advocacy to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or inadequately housed.

In the first six months of 2026 we have supported 417 households, including 138 prevention of losing their home, 37 individuals or families have been housed, and countless others are receiving support guidance and are on their journey to stability.

People just like Donna who came to AHAG at breaking point — facing eviction, recovering from domestic abuse, struggling with her health, and relying on alcohol just to cope. She felt overwhelmed, frightened, and completely alone.

Gentle, consistent support helped her slowly trust that she wasn’t facing everything by herself. She began engaging, challenged her eviction, and found the breathing space she desperately needed. Donna committed to recovery, completed detox, and started rebuilding her life. When her perpetrator broke into her home just a week into sobriety, she was finally able to report what had happened and keep herself safe.

She kept going through every challenge: managing debts, volunteering, staying sober, and even facing a cancer diagnosis with extraordinary strength. In early 2026, she finally moved into a safe home where she and her dog, Roxy, could start again.

Today, Donna is over a year sober, safe, and rebuilding her life with dignity and hope.

Your donations make journeys like hers possible — turning crisis into safety, stability and the chance to thrive.
