On the 11th September we will be participating in Aylesbury Homeless Action Group’s ‘A Night for Change’; sleeping outside overnight in whatever the weather to raise awareness of homelessness in our communities, and vital funds for AHAG to continue providing advice and support to any person facing a housing crisis.

Every night in the UK, thousands of men, women, and young people have nowhere safe to sleep. AHAG works to change that – providing personalised, targeted and supportive advice and guidance to anyone in housing crisis.

Last year, with the support of people just like you, they changed the lives of 735 people and their families, including Alfie who’s story is below.

No donation is too small, every pound we raise takes them one step closer to a world where no one has to sleep rough or be fearful in their accommodation.

Everybody calls him Alfie. He came to Aylesbury hoping for safety, but instead found years of hardship — unstable work, nights sleeping rough, constant fear, and the loneliness of feeling invisible. Life became a cycle of survival and trying to stay hopeful when everything felt stacked against him.

Still, Alfie kept going. He worked wherever he could and held onto the belief that things could change. With support behind him, he finally had someone in his corner, the team from AHAG — someone to help him navigate the system, rebuild stability and feel seen again.

Today, Alfie has secure housing, community around him, and the dignity he fought so hard to reclaim.
