Story
Kilimanjaro is a snow covered mountain 19,710 feet high and it is the highest mountain in Africa. It is located in Tanzania about 200 miles south of the Equator. The real challenge climbing it in 6 days is the altitude. The air pressure drops as you climb so gradually breathing becomes faster and it becomes more difficult to breathe in sufficient oxygen especially above 12,000 feet. This may lead to Acute Mountain Sickness also called Altitude sickness the most common cause of failure. There is however the thrill and challenge of climbing one of the Worlds most beautiful and highest peaks.
When it was suggested I might attempt to climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds from people like you, for Fresh Start, I welcomed that chance. I have been on the Board of Fresh Start for four years supporting its aim to enable people who have been homeless make a home for themselves and resettle into their community. Last year Fresh Start was able to deliver over 11,000 Starter Packs but this only meets about 50% of the need. Fresh Start would like to try and help more people and needs more finance. So, I would very much welcome your support by sponsoring me and by doing so, support Fresh Start and the excellent work it is doing in helping some of the most vulnerable people in our Community.
Thank you.
