The charity has outstanding values and impact. Particularly because Emma is not paid and only 6p in every £1 goes on running the charity. Every £1 goes a long way in Bhutan to bring education and teach vocational skills, allowing special needs children to live meaningful lives.
£100 donated provides school uniform, shoes and stationery for a child.
£500 donated provides special needs teaching support
£800 donated provides and maintains clean water filter systems
£2,000 provides daily meals for 70 special needs students for a month
You can donate through this campaign, or in many ways at https://www.openingyourhearttobhutan.com
If you choose to donate through Justgiving, at checkout please select 'custom amount' and enter £0 in order for your entire donation to reach the children rather than an extra amount going to the fundraising platform.
Emma is not a mountain Trekker! - In fact she's not fond of walking or being in a tent!
She will be walking 403 km, crossing 12 mountain passes, six climate zones, ending up at the purpose-build special needs school built by Opening Your Heart to Bhutan. After that she will be sitting down!
Maybe you and some friends could tackle 35km each (22 miles), walking, cycling, swimming, running, horse-riding, skipping or space hopping?
You could do this all in one go or over a period of time.
