An Talla Solais arose from a need: while music has traditionally flourished in the Highlands, and Ullapool is a recognised hub of musical talent and growth, no dedicated space existed for the visual arts. West Coast residents were out of easy reach of the best contemporary art shows and opportunities.

After six happy years in The Gallery on West Argyle Street, we share your sadness in losing this special place. We remain determined though to continue our mission of bringing contemporary, high quality art to the rural Highlands, and of ensuring that art can be for all. We will continue to do this through our 'Dolphins' project, working with people living with Dementia in Ullapool, our community led work, our residencies, studios and hopefully in the future a Gallery space again. A place to enjoy, marvel in and be inspired by art.

After a difficult few years we are reaching out to ask for your support to secure the future of An Talla Solais. We will work hard to ensure that this future is as vibrant and exciting as it has been in the last 18 and are excited for the possibilities that lie ahead of us. We hope that you will be a part of our journey and that together we can make a future for An Talla Solais possible.
