Story
Autoimmune diseases affect more than six million people across the UK, with over 80 recognised conditions, including Lupus, Crohn’s, coeliac disease, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.
A diagnosis can be overwhelming and isolating, and for many, the emotional impact is just as profound as the physical symptoms.
That's why this Autoimmune Awareness month, we are encouraging everyone to pick a challenge and help us fundraise, to support individuals battling with autoimmune diseases.
At the Wren Project, we provide free, confidential listening support to people feeling distressed because of their autoimmune disease. Our trained volunteers create a safe, non‑judgemental space where people can talk openly about the challenges they face. Their role is not to offer advice or solutions, but to be present during times of difficulty, pain, and uncertainty.
“The impact we are having on people’s ability to live with autoimmune disease is profound. People tell us they feel more hopeful, less distressed, and less alone. This transformation is at the heart of everything we do.” - Kate Middleton, Founder and CEO of the Wren Project
We are so grateful to everyone taking part in this Challenge. Whether you fundraise solo or with a loved one, every challenge helps to change lives.
Thank you from all of us at the Wren Project.
