Emily Jenner is raising money for The Wren Project

Swimming 200 lengths (5 km) in the month of March

For Autoimmune Awareness Month this March, we’re asking our community to Choose Your Challenge to support people living with autoimmune disease. Whether you fundraise solo or with a loved one, every challenge helps to change lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I’m excited to share that I will be swimming 200 lengths (5 km) in the month of March, in honour of Autoimmune Awareness Month. This initiative is close to my heart as it supports The Wren Project, a charity dedicated to providing listening support for individuals diagnosed with autoimmune diseases. It serves as a vital resource for those navigating the emotional and physical challenges that come with such diagnoses.

Having been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in 2022, I have experienced firsthand how profoundly an autoimmune condition can affect mental health. The journey has been challenging, and at times, I felt isolated in my struggles. I am incredibly grateful for the support from those around me; however, I recognize that many may never fully understand what it’s like to live with such a condition. This is where The Wren Project can make a significant difference—offering understanding and companionship during difficult times.

I wish I had known about this invaluable resource earlier in my journey; it could have alleviated some of the loneliness I felt. By supporting The Wren Project through my swim, I hope to give back and ensure others have access to the support they need.

I kindly ask you to consider donating towards my goal of £250. Your contribution will directly benefit The Wren Project and help them continue their essential work. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure—your details are safe with them, and they will send your donation directly to the charity. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of those affected by autoimmune conditions.
