This June, a team of riders will be taking on Bike Oxford to raise funds for Asylum Welcome.

On the final day of Refugee Week, our cyclists will ride through the Oxfordshire countryside to support refugees and people seeking asylum rebuilding their lives in our community.

Every mile ridden helps ensure that Oxford remains a place of welcome.

Why this ride matters

Every year, thousands of people arrive in the UK seeking safety after fleeing war, persecution, and violence.

When they reach Oxfordshire, many face enormous challenges:

• Navigating complex immigration systems

• Living on extremely limited financial support

• Overcoming language barriers

• Facing isolation and uncertainty about the future

For 30 years this year Asylum Welcome has been here to help.

Our staff and volunteers provide advice, practical support, community activities, and opportunities that help people rebuild their lives with dignity and independence.

• Language and digital support

• Community and wellbeing programmes

• Employment and volunteering pathways

A community riding together

Bike Oxford is a chance for supporters, staff, volunteers, and friends of Asylum Welcome to come together in solidarity.

Whether riding 25km, 50km, or 80km, each cyclist is helping raise vital funds and awareness for refugees in our community.

Every rider has their own reason for taking part but we’re all riding for the same goal: A community where people seeking safety are welcomed and supported to thrive.
