Fundraising for Asylum Welcome - Bike Oxford 2026

Lucy Keating is raising money for Asylum Welcome

Bike Oxford 2026 · 21 June 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

This June, Asylum Welcome is putting together a team of cyclists to take on Bike Oxford 2026. Taking place on the final day of Refugee Week, Bike Oxford is a great way to support our work while enjoying the beauty of the Oxfordshire countryside.

Story

I’m taking on a 50-mile bike ride to raise funds for Asylum Welcome.

For nearly 30 years, Asylum Welcome has supported refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants across Oxfordshire as they rebuild their lives.

I’ve seen first-hand the extraordinary work they do. From legal advice and casework to food, education and help finding housing, their support makes a real, practical difference at a critical time.

Right now, the fundraising environment is extremely challenging. Demand for support is rising, but funding is under real pressure—and that puts vital services like these at risk.

I’ll be honest—I’m not a natural athlete, and I don’t usually do sponsored events. I’m far more often the one quietly donating when someone else asks. But this time, I’m stepping slightly (!) out of my comfort zone—so if you’re able to support, I’d be really grateful.

And truly, this challenge is nothing compared to the challenges many refugees and asylum seekers face every day.

Thank you so much x
