Because No Young Person Should Grieve Alone
Balloons is a small charity based in Exeter, Devon, offering specialist support to children and young people aged 5–25 who are facing the devastating impact of bereavement. Whether it’s a parent, sibling, grandparent, or close friend, grief can be overwhelming—and Balloons is there to help them navigate it with compassion, care, and hope.
“Balloons helped me talk about my dad when I didn’t know how. I felt safe, and I didn’t feel so alone anymore.”

Running for Balloons means running for:
Hope: Your fundraising helps provide one-to-one support from trained bereavement volunteers.
Healing: It funds creative therapies and memory-making activities that help children express their grief.
Heart: You’ll be part of a community that believes every child deserves to be heard, understood, and supported.
And with every mile, you’ll be helping Balloons reach more families who are struggling to cope with loss.
“We couldn’t have got through this without Balloons. They were there when everything else felt like it was falling apart.”
— Parent of a bereaved child
