The Unit supports over 3,000 patients each year. The team comprises of 70+ staff including midwives, maternity support workers, domestics, physios, doctors, hearing screening, infant feeding support workers who are all passionate about providing high quality care to ensure our woman-focused approach is central to everything we do. We support you by providing evidence-based care and information for you to make choices for your pregnancy and birth that are right for you.

We are undertaking our first ever fundraiser - a spectacular 12 days of Christmas fundraising. In addition to fundraising in the hospital which includes a tombola, baby item sale our 12 days finale is a nativity walk on 23 December walking from Barnsley town centre back to the hospital.
