Every 3 minutes, someone in the UK dies from cardiovascular disease.

Whether it's losing a loved one to cardiac arrest or coping with the devastating impact of heart failure, far too many of us have felt the pain that cardiovascular diseases cause. British Heart Foundation (BHF) wants to see a world where everyone has a healthier heart for longer.

Our incredible BHF-funded researchers see first-hand how vital it is to raise the funds needed to drive scientific breakthroughs. Our annual Heart Month challenge for BHF researchers is all about this fantastic community coming together to raise funds for BHF and keep us beating. Whether it's by Walking for Hearts, CPR-a-thons, or something completely unique, every penny raised will help towards achieving our vision of a world where everyone has a healthier heart, for longer.

BHF researchers from up and down the UK who take on the fundraising challenge will compete to be the team that raises the most for BHF throughout February and March. On 1st April 2026, our winners will be crowned champions, taking home a bespoke trophy and 5 invitations to the Heart Hero Awards 2026!
